Marcus Gamus is an award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist with more than a decade of experience, focused on game scores, trailer music and songs for games.
He writes for both indie teams and studio productions and he brings a rare mix of artistry and strategic thinking to projects. What drives him is making music that serves the vision of a game, its narrative and the player experience, beyond just setting a mood.
Marcus holds a Master’s in Composition, Songwriting and Production from Berklee College of Music (summa cum laude). Before that he spent several years in strategy consulting and studied Innovation & Leadership at Stanford Graduate School of Business (which taught him to start from the goal rather than the craft). He was named Multimedia Talent of the Year Germany and his work was published by HarperCollins.
Outside games he has worked with Grammy-nominated songwriters, producers and iconic brands (incl. Nike, Google, Mercedes-Benz, FIFA) and he is also a music book author.
Raised in the indie community, he gives back through "Indie Shack": up to four indie games or indie films a year receive original music and coaching at no cost.
He lives and works in Berlin.
Building a game? Let's talk about it.
